Description
One drop on the prism, point it at the light, and the light–dark line reads off the scale: coolant freeze point (ethylene or propylene glycol), electrolyte density of a flooded battery, washer-fluid freeze point. The antifreeze check before a high-plateaux winter and the weak cell in a battery, on one instrument. Automatic temperature compensation; optical, no battery.
